Band Program

Oconee Christian Academy launched its band program in the 2021-22 Academic School Year under the tutelage of Mrs. Taylor Neave Gonzalez .

Mrs. Christina Black joined OCA in 2023 and is continuing to grow our band program. She teaches elementary music and has band students ranging from the 5th - 9th grade. She, her husband, and their three children moved to Seneca from Georgia. We are excited to have Mrs. Black join the OCA Warrior Family.

Program Details

The program was initially launched for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, but now has grown to 5th - 10th grade. During their time in band, students will be learning how to read music, play an instrument, and perform music with their peers. The program is open to both full-time OCA students as well as homeschool students.

Homeschool students interested in participating should contact Admissions at 864-882-6925. On a first come first served basis, private lessons for homeschool students in grades 6-8 will be offered and the times will be provided when the master schedule is confirmed. These lessons will be $25/half hour. Also, on a first come first served basis, private lessons will be available for full-time OCA students on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 3:15-4:15pm. If your student is interested, please contact Mrs. Black (christina.black@oconeechristian.org).
